About me
I think the real reason so many of us feel stuck isn’t that our lives are awful. It’s that there’s a dream rotting inside of us we’ve been ignoring for way too long.
This year, mine was moving to Australia, finally starting the life of travelling and moving around the world I’ve wanted for as long as I can remember. I couldn’t ignore it anymore. So I’m not.
I’m Megan, a lifelong self-development lover who has been slightly obsessed, for as long as I can remember, with one question: how do we actually feel better, live better, and enjoy our lives, not just look like we are.
My life’s been anything but conventional. I’ve always found the loopholes to get things done and focus on what I actually wanted, from my A Levels to building a business at uni. I’ve never been employed full time in my life, and I’ve always had big dreams. Honestly, you’d never meet anyone who bet on themselves harder than 16 year old me. I’ve always known I wanted a lot from life, and I’d do anything in my power to make it happen.
I’ve been a content creator since I was 16 and graduated with a degree in Fashion Branding in 2022, but I think I always knew I’d end up doing this work.
Everything clicked when I had life coaching myself. The realisations were so profound, so genuinely life changing, that I just knew. This is it. This is what I’m meant to do.
I’m now qualified as a Transformative Coach with Animas, and my whole thing is helping 20-something women (and beyond) create, and actually LIVE, a life they love. Not the life they think they “should” have (i HATE the word should). My job is closing the gap between where you are now and the life you actually want.
I just want to live a full, happy life, one that feels good and means something to me, not one I think I should be living. And I’m a strong believer that life looks different for everyone. I’m not here to teach you how to live mine, I don’t know more than you do, and I’m not a mentor, I’m a coach. My job is helping you figure out what your version of a good life actually looks like, and then helping you live it.
My why is simple. I just want people to feel good. It drives everything I do.
So what does coaching with me actually look like?
I’m not going to hand you my life as a blueprint for yours, because life doesn’t work like that. What I am is trained to ask the questions that help you find your own answers, not mine.
Coaching isn’t therapy, and it isn’t a template. It’s about identifying the beliefs that are quietly running the show and keeping you stuck, reframing them, and building the self-trust to actually go after what you want, not what you think you should want.
I pair that with the practical side too. Big realisations are great, but they don’t mean much without a next step. So we work on both, the mindset shift and the doable action that actually gets you there.
And you don’t do it alone. Community is a huge part of how I coach, because growth feels different, and honestly a lot more achievable, when you’re doing it alongside other people going through the same thing.
How LYB actually started
Life’s Your Bitch started four years ago in the living room of my third year uni house, as a final year project when we were supposed to be making a portfolio to leave uni with. I was already building my business so started a podcast, made an app mock-up and hosted an event (I’ve always been a BIG fan of finding loopholes in education lol).
LYB lived long beyond uni, clearly. From there it turned into years of community, 24+ events across the UK, 3 retreats in Wales, one super epic boat trip in Croatia, and of course 150 podcast episodes recorded every single week for three years straight.
Then I ran out of things to say on the podcast right around the time I started my coaching qualification, so something had to give.
Naturally, LYB became my coaching business. Nearly 100 hours of coaching and one qualification later, I trialled a group programme with six girls at the start of this year. The feedback was incredible, so I built a platform, and started my first ever programme, All or Something!!!
The name is the whole point. Most of us live stuck between all or nothing, either doing everything right or giving up completely, with no in between. Something is always better than nothing, and progress doesn’t need to be perfect to count.
The old episodes of the Life’s Your Bitch podcast are still on Spotify, if you want to hear where it all began. Listen on Spotify (opens in a new tab)
What LYB actually is
Honestly? It’s ever changing, and I hope it stays that way. But at its core, it will always be community first, and about building and living a life we actually love.
Here’s my controversial opinion: we need to focus more on feeling good and having fun.
We’re all raised to believe we should constantly be working towards the best version of ourselves. Sounds harmless enough. But as a generation, we can’t seem to do anything casually, so social media, wellness brands and loser CEO gurus took that idea and ran with it until it got toxic. Somewhere along the way we started treating ourselves like a project instead of a person.
You can’t do everything perfectly all the time. And honestly, I don’t think you’re meant to. I think you’re meant to focus on having as much fun as humanly possible, and feeling as good as you can, as often as you can.
If you want a coach who’s going to help you optimise your routine or build a life that looks impressive from the outside, I’m simply not for you. I want to help you build a life you truly love living, not one you’re performing for everyone else.
If you’re ready for more, I fear you’re in the right place.
